UK Public Sector Lead

Overview

In this role you will lead Stripe’s UK public sector go-to-market, shaping how Stripe serves government, education, utilities, charities, and other regulated bodies. You will craft strategy, build trusted relationships, and define the operating model to serve public sector customers. You will work with cross-functional teams to align procurement, compliance, risk, and product needs with market opportunities. This is a high-impact role that advances Stripe’s mission to grow the GDP of the internet by expanding public sector capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define the UK public sector strategy including priority segments, routes to market, and required capabilities
• Build and manage relationships across government, procurement ecosystems, and advisory partners
• Engage senior decision-makers to understand needs and co-create Stripe-based solutions
• Navigate procurement, contracting, security, compliance, and stakeholder alignment requirements
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, GTM, Alliances, Product, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to ready Stripe for public sector customers
• Translate market requirements into onboarding, risk, contracting, implementation, and product development priorities
• Develop positioning, account strategy, partner ecosystem, sales plays, and success metrics for UK growth and global strategy input

Key requirements

• Experience working in or selling to the UK public sector (government, public bodies, education, transport, utilities, charities, not-for-profit)
• Established senior relationships across UK public sector and procurement/policy communities
• Experience delivering complex outcomes through multi-stakeholder procurement, contracting, compliance, risk, and implementation
• Experience leading senior cross-functional stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, Risk, Product, Sales, Partnerships, Operations)
• Strong written and verbal communication, strategic judgment
