Senior Business Analyst

Overview

In this role you will identify opportunities for change across the Council and develop practical change programmes. You will be part of the Transformation service, supporting a major local government reorganisation. You will combine analysis with stakeholder engagement to shape cases for change, quantify benefits, and guide delivery. You lead a small team and help colleagues grow, contributing to more efficient, citizen-focused public services. This is a hybrid role with a clear impact on North Yorkshire’s transformation journey.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders across the Council to spot transformation opportunities
• Develop and present change cases to senior management and partners
• Undertake analyses to define opportunities, benefits, and action plans
• Represent customer interests throughout analysis work and project lifecycles
• Review impact and measure benefits realised from initiatives
• Be part of a supportive BA team delivering positive change
• Directly manage a small team of Business Analysts and mentor their development

Key requirements

• Experience as a senior business analyst delivering change initiatives
• Ability to manage stakeholders and communicate with senior management
• Proven track record in developing business cases and benefit realisation
• Experience supervising or mentoring a small team of analysts
