Overview
In this role you lead the commercial management of multiple Schindler projects in London, ensuring cost control, contracts and risks are well managed. You’ll partner with clients, contractors and internal teams to deliver high-value elevator and escalator solutions while upholding safety and regulatory standards. You’ll influence project delivery through budgeting, forecasting and process improvements. The role offers a meaningful impact on urban mobility and sustainable infrastructure, within a collaborative, quality-focused culture.

Responsibilities
- Allocate workloads and monitor team performance to meet project goals
- Oversee commercial management including cost control, forecasting, and reporting
- Serve as main contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders on commercial matters
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards and UK contracts (NEC, JCT)
- Build relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams
- Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members
- Foster collaborative team culture and professional development
- Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and delivery
- Resolve disputes and manage conflicts with internal or external parties
- Report to senior management on team performance, project status, and commercial risks
- Support the professional development of team members
- Prepare, manage and monitor project budgets, forecasts and cost plans
Key requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
- Chartered status with RICS or equivalent is highly desirable
- Significant experience in a senior quantity surveying role within construction or building services
- Proven track record of managing commercial aspects of complex, high-value projects
- Strong knowledge of contract law and standard forms (NEC, JCT) and commercial procedures
- Excellent leadership, negotiation and communication skills
- Proficient in relevant software and IT systems
- Experience estimating project costs and presenting tender documents
- Experience with Health & Safety compliance including CDM
- Minimum ~10 years’ experience at senior level in construction/building maintenance
- Knowledge of pre-construction procedures (procurement, planning and contracts)
