In this Platform Engineer role, you will design, build, and operate cloud-based platform solutions for diverse clients, focusing on robust infrastructure and scalable pipelines. You’ll work in cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable services and communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You’ll stay ahead of tech trends, contribute to engineering communities, and help shape Deloitte’s digital transformation agenda. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality platforms and pipelines
• Contribute across the software development lifecycle from design to deployment and maintenance
• Provide technical input during system design and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Write well-documented code and contribute to technical documentation
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure smooth operation of live services
• Stay up to date with latest technologies and assess their impact and adoption potential
• Communicate complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences
• Actively contribute to the engineering community

Key requirements

• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based platforms with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Hands-on experience with GCP services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud Functions, GKE)
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Deployment Manager
• Strong CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build)
• Scripting proficiency (Python, Bash, Go)
• Experience with containerisation/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE)
• Understanding of networking, security, and IAM in cloud environments (GCP best practices)
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, GCP Operations Suite)
• Version control (Git)
• Ability to optimise workloads for performance, cost, and reliability on GCP
