Overview

In this Senior Supplier Quality & Development role, you drive the quality and readiness of global powertrain suppliers for McLaren’s multi-propulsion future. You collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing to ensure supplier capability, robust processes and timely deliveries from sourcing through launches. You’ll tackle complex problems, lead quality assurance across the powertrain supply base, and enable successful vehicle programmes with hands-on supplier development and governance.

Responsibilities

• Own global Powertrain supplier quality and development, building capable partnerships and tracking quality, timing and delivery through the lifecycle
• Lead APQP and PPAP for new and changed components, managing risks, issues and approvals against programme timing
• Collaborate with Engineering and suppliers to improve design for manufacture, process capability, durability and product quality
• Support programme launches with proactive supplier development, clear progress reporting and robust part plans
• Monitor supplier performance across quality, delivery and operational capability; lead audits, governance reviews and improvement plans
• Lead resolution of critical supplier issues using structured problem solving, containment and sustainable corrective action

Key requirements

• Experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering or Supplier Development
• Ability to translate technical requirements into capable manufacturing processes
• Strong knowledge of powertrain manufacturing processes (machining, casting, forging, assembly)
• Experience leading supplier industrialisation, APQP and PPAP in complex vehicle programmes
• Ability to assess manufacturing feasibility, process capability, capacity and supplier readiness
• Knowledge of FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D and DMAIC; IATF 16949 and AIAG requirements
• Understanding of GD&T and dimensional control in high-precision environments
• Stakeholder management and influencing skills; handling supplier risk and escalations
• Familiarity with SAP, Microsoft Office and CAD visualization tools
• Fluent written and spoken English; additional languages useful
