Civil / Project Engineer

Overview

As a Civil/Project Engineer in Bristol, you lead civil engineering delivery across a diverse, multi‑million pound portfolio. You’ll own day‑to‑day engineering oversight, liaise with authorities and design teams, and mentor colleagues while shaping projects in education, healthcare, housing and urban regeneration. Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day engineering activities on diverse projects
• Design and review Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and related drainage solutions
• Develop concept and detailed designs using AutoCAD, Civil3D and Causeway Flow
• Manage highways design to adoptable standards (DMRB, MCHW, local standards)
• Liaise with authorities and internal/external design teams
• Represent the company at design and progress meetings
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to project management and delivery
• Support NHS, Department for Education and private sector projects

Key requirements

• Drainage bias with experience in SuDS design
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D and Causeway Flow
• Experience of highways design to adoptable standards (DMRB, MCHW, local standards)
• Ability to liaise with authorities and design teams
• Desirable: flood risk assessments and Welsh SAB experience
• Active involvement in professional Institution training pathway preferred
• Demonstrated project management and mentoring interest
