Senior Software Engineer/Architect – Fintech

Overview

In this Senior Software Engineer/Architect role, you will own the design, development and maintenance of early-stage solutions for a pioneering fintech client. You’ll help shape the platform’s trajectory within an agile, fast-paced environment, leveraging open-source and cloud-native tech to deliver scalable SaaS. You will collaborate with market practitioners and engineers to evolve architecture, interfaces, and pipelines, driving high-impact outcomes in financial markets. This role offers the chance to evangelise new technologies and influence critical architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain early-stage solutions
• Shape architecture and interface design over a large codebase
• Lead and collaborate in an agile, fast-paced environment
• Evangelise and prototype new technologies to improve performance
• Build, test, and operate distributed systems and pipelines with CI/CD

Key requirements

• Track record of developing quality software
• Contribute to open-source communities
• Strong STEM education (ideally Computer Science)
• Team player with leadership ability
• Experience directing the direction and design of large codebases
• Strong Python skills
• Some Linux experience
• Interest in Kubernetes and cloud-native tech
• Experience building, testing, and operating distributed systems
