Built Environment Asset Manager

Overview

As Built Environment Asset Manager, you act as the technical authority to ensure assets are maintained for optimum availability, reliability, safety and quality. You will drive risk mitigation, governance, and compliance to TfL standards, shaping asset strategies and improvement plans. The role sits within APD Built Environment, collaborating with stakeholders to meet safety and performance targets. You will lead initiatives that improve the customer experience and support TfL’s business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority on asset risk mitigations and drive maintenance optimisation
• Lead the Safety Improvement Plan and ensure compliance with LU Standards and governance
• Analyse risk registers and drive mitigation actions with budgets and work orders (AMS)
• Develop compelling business cases for funding (data improvements, efficiencies, R&D)
• Deliver the annual Corrective Workbank and Minor Works
• Prepare technical requirements and briefs for corrective works
• Conduct technical reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and TfL guidance
• Attend cross-functional meetings to resolve technical issues and address safety and environmental concerns
• Identify constraints and provide solutions to enable delivery of maintenance obligations
• Deputise for the Built Environment Asset Delivery Manager as needed

Key requirements

• Degree/HND/HNC in Civil/Structural/Construction/Building Surveying/Architecture or equivalent
• Extensive engineering experience within TfL or equivalent environments
• Experience in technical/design review and analysis
• Experience managing safety and investigating incidents
• Ability to analyse complex data and produce actionable reports for senior management
• Knowledge of health, safety and environment legislation and best practices
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, with tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
