Team Manager – Parenting Assessment and Family Time Team

Overview

In this role you lead the Parenting Assessment and Family Time Team within a strengths-based Family Safeguarding model, guiding a multi-disciplinary group to support children to remain safely with their families. You drive practice that values listening to children, care and kindness, and clear communication. You will oversee service improvement and ensure effective information sharing using unified tools. Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary teams and co-located specialist practitioners under a unified management structure
• Oversee assessment and support work to keep children with their families where safe
• Implement Motivational Interviewing framework across staff and run skills workshops
• Utilise electronic assessment workbook to streamline data sharing and reduce recording time
• Support continuous service improvement and staff development through in-house and external training
• Engage with families and partners to maintain effective, collaborative practice and outcomes

Key requirements

• Experience in social work leadership or management within child welfare
• Knowledge of Family Safeguarding approaches and multi-disciplinary collaboration
• Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing (MI) and structured intervention programmes
• Ability to lead practice improvement and staff development initiatives
• Strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills
