Adoption Software Engineer XDP

Overview

As Adoption Software Engineer, you will help design and modernize Barclays’ digital platform to deliver a market-leading customer experience. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable Java-based solutions deployed on AWS, using rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept approaches. You will apply secure coding practices and formal testing to ensure robust, high-quality delivery. This role combines technical delivery with a product mindset to transform the digital estate and enable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software using Java and industry-standard frameworks
• Ensure code is scalable, maintainable, and performant
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and align with business objectives
• Participate in code reviews and promote code quality and knowledge sharing
• Stay current with industry trends and contribute to technical communities
• Adhere to secure coding practices to protect data and software
• Implement effective unit testing to ensure reliability
• Prototype and build solutions (PoCs) to realise business needs using AWS

Key requirements

• Experience with Java
• BDD testing concepts

• Experience with authentication/authorization technologies such as Policy as Code and IAM
