Cost Consultant OR PQS

Overview

In this role you’ll support the delivery of PBSA and BTR schemes by cost managing main contractors from tender through to procurement and client-side transition. You will work within a specialist investment-focused team delivering turnkey, fully fitted schemes valued around 30–50m, across the UK. You’ll engage in pre-construction activities, high-level cost plans, and coordination with cost consultants. The opportunity offers exposure to a well-funded investment organisation with a track record in PBSA/BTR and other construction sectors.

Responsibilities

• cost managing main contractors tendering for building works
• engage in pre-construction and front-end cost activities
• manage and coordinate with cost consultants
• appraise and develop high-level cost plans
• analyse basic drawings and advise on procurement requirements
• work with JCT Design & Build and bespoke contracts
• support turnover of turnkey, fully fitted schemes
• assist in client-side transition when applicable

Key requirements

• consultancy or cost management experience
• experience cost managing main contractors
• pre-construction/front-end involvement
• ability to appraise and develop high-level cost plans
• experience with analysing drawings and procurement requirements
• familiarity with JCT Design & Build contracts
