Clinical Negligence Solicitor / CILEX – Cardiff – Senior Level

Overview

In this role you will manage a complex caseload of high-value clinical negligence claims within a specialist claimant team in Cardiff, providing supervision to a small group of case handlers. You will handle both pre- and post-issue work, lead risk assessments and 1-2-1 sessions, and contribute to training and development while upholding robust case management procedures. The position blends hands-on litigation with mentorship, within a supportive, hybrid working environment. Responsibilities

• Manage own caseload of complex, high-value clinical negligence claims
• Handle high-value matters pre- and post-issue
• Supervise and mentor a team of case handlers
• Conduct weekly risk assessments and 1-2-1 supervision sessions
• Provide ad hoc guidance to junior colleagues
• Participate in team training, development and marketing initiatives
• Maintain and contribute to the group’s case management procedures

Key requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or CILEX with solid claimant clinical negligence experience
• Strong litigation background with experience managing complex claims
• Excellent knowledge of CPR and clinical negligence law
• Experience supervising, coaching and developing junior team members
• Ability to handle sensitive client matters with professionalism and empathy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient IT skills and an organised approach
• Experience with LEI, CFA or publicly funded cases (advantageous)
