Lead Data Analyst

Overview

In this Lead role, you guide data-focused initiatives within cross-functional squads to deliver evidence-based solutions. You will secure strategic direction from senior stakeholders and mentor a team of analysts to produce robust, scalable data models and insights. Your work strengthens client data capabilities, enabling better decision-making and impact across organisations. You’ll represent Hippo’s data and engineering expertise through events and thought leadership, driving growth and quality in complex engagements.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical SME to develop user-centered data solutions following best practices
• Lead engagement with senior stakeholders to translate needs into strategic analysis plans
• Prioritize and realign delivery workload as priorities evolve
• Oversee identification of advanced analytics opportunities (ML, predictive modelling) to drive client value
• Ensure robust statistical techniques and high standards of data cleaning/management
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and line management of analysts with coaching/mentoring
• Promote Hippo’s Engineering and Data Herd through seminars, conferences, and thought leadership

Key requirements

• Extensive experience as a data analyst leading delivery of high-quality data solutions
• Expertise in architecting data models and visualisations for complex organisational challenges
• Deep experience with enterprise data warehouses and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake)
• Mastery of SQL and advanced proficiency in Python or R for data science applications
• Exceptional stakeholder management with ability to influence at a strategic level
• Proven track record of coaching, mentoring, and leading technical teams
