Associate Director – Project Management

Overview

In this role you lead infrastructure projects in Scotland, coordinating activities and ensuring governance and safe delivery. You will drive exceptional delivery, risk, quality and financial performance across the project lifecycle. You’ll engage with clients, cross-functional teams and other consultants to win work and develop the team. You’ll work within a collaborative, impact-focused environment that values health, safety and continuous improvement. This is a strategic role with client interfaces and opportunity to shape major highways projects.

Responsibilities

• Establish project success criteria including time, cost, technical and performance parameters
• Ensure quality, safety, health and environment considerations are communicated to line managers
• Set up and maintain project governance, processes and systems
• Create detailed project plans and monitor progress
• Advise on resources procurement and coordinate cross-functional team
• Apply performance management techniques and monitor project performance
• Manage change control processes and track project finances
• Manage information flow to clients through meetings and written reports
• Lead client and consultant interfaces across project stages
• Support business development by identifying new opportunities with existing clients and assisting bid documentation
• Capture and share knowledge in internal databases and ensure prompt client invoicing using FMS
• Identify process improvements and route ideas to line managers

Key requirements

• NEC accredited Project Manager
• Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction
• Experience working on major highways projects
• Strong governance, financial and risk management capabilities
• Effective leadership of cross-functional project teams
• Excellent client interfacing and report-writing skills
