Utilities Coordinator

Overview

In this role you will manage utility connections and related works from viability to completion, coordinating with commercial, design and site teams to secure timely deliveries and optimise value. You’ll identify risks and opportunities for value engineering to maximise gross profit while ensuring safety, quality and policy compliance. You’ll support utility programmes, approvals, and contractor oversight, helping to deliver services for new developments. This is a collaborative, policy-driven role with opportunities to influence project strategy and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage utility connections and third-party works from viability to completion
• Request quotes, place orders with commercial colleagues, and monitor installation to programme
• Identify contractual, financial, technical and operational risks and opportunities for value engineering
• Ensure adherence to SHE, risk management and solution design policies
• Provide project utility information for appraisal and Gateways; support RAMS and compliance
• Coordinate with construction team on strategy for utilising and completing utility connections
• Assist with MEP procurement input and reviewing quotations
• Support site and office teams in securing power and water to sites, including meters and certification
• Maintain and communicate the project utility programme and attend departmental meetings
• Ensure services design comments are reviewed and closed out with M&E Design Manager
• Provide all services information for Gateway meetings as required by LoS process
• Support the commercial department in payment applications and procurement activities
• Ensure necessary certifications for connections and PC/completion
• Develop and implement test, inspection, and commissioning strategies
• Ensure RAMS, legal requirements and best practices are followed across the business unit
• Support process to secure POCs and service diversion works

Key requirements

• HNC or equivalent
• Knowledge of Utilities legislation
• Experience on projects delivering services for the housebuilding sector
• Understanding of securing services to new developments and POCs/service diversion works
• Detailed understanding of technical aspects of service delivery
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to use MS software
• Demonstrates resilience
• Willing to work extra to meet deadlines
