Senior Cost Manager (MEP) – Real Estate

Overview

In this role you will lead MEP cost management on complex projects, from early budgeting and cost planning through to post‑contract reporting. You will manage a design team, coordinate tendering and procurement, and keep clients informed with robust cost controls. The position sits within our Edinburgh Real Estate team, supporting developers, occupiers, government, health, education and tech clients. You will help shape cost outcomes and collaborate across contractors and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Commission management within a larger project or direct MEP commission
• Assist feasibility studies and procurement reports
• Estimate and cost plan; present final cost plan to clients
• Tendering and procurement (single and two stage); manage pre-qualification
• Manage post‑contract cost variances and change control processes
• Perform cost checks and valuations for large projects
• Produce monthly post‑contract cost reports for clients
• Input into value engineering
• Negotiate and finalize accounts
• Interface with client and other consultants across project stages
• Lead a cost management team when appropriate
