Fire Engineer

Overview

In this Fire Engineer role you will support a growing fire engineering consultancy across the building lifecycle. You will assess fire risks, advise on legislation compliance, and collaborate with design teams and stakeholders to drive safe, compliant projects. The position offers exposure to Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Order, and Building Regulations in a dynamic, positive team. You will help deliver risk-based strategies and supported remedial works. This is a long-term opportunity to advance technical expertise within a supportive firm.

Responsibilities

• Prepare strategy reports and advise on legislation compliance (Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Order)
• Analyse fire risks and propose control measures
• Collaborate with internal design teams and external stakeholders
• Support inspections, remedial work programs, and Building Regulations approvals
• Assist with fire risk assessments

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Fire engineering, Fire Safety or Fire Risk Engineering
• Membership in the Institution of Fire Engineers (ideally working towards Engineering Council registration)
• In-depth knowledge of fire safety legislation, technical standards, and best practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines and budgets
