Overview

As a Portfolio Manager, you will oversee a defined portfolio of US clients serviced through our UK operating model, providing investment guidance and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with global teams to deliver consistent outcomes and high-quality client service. The role supports junior colleagues and contributes to the firm’s client franchise, serving as a pathway to senior leadership. This position combines relationship management, risk governance, and cross-team collaboration to drive client value and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a defined portfolio of clients and deliver consistent, high-quality service
  • Build and sustain trusted, long-term relationships through proactive engagement
  • Identify opportunities to grow client relationships aligned with client needs
  • Support net new business through referrals and introductions
  • Drive revenue growth and client profitability while meeting targets
  • Escalate complex or high-risk matters appropriately
  • Deliver responsive client experiences and maintain accurate records of interactions
  • Collaborate with Investment, Planning, and specialist teams to implement solutions
  • Maintain awareness of portfolio risk parameters and escalate concerns early
  • Promote continuous improvement of client processes and governance
  • Support the development of junior colleagues and act as a role model for firm values

Key requirements

  • Regulatory-approved Level 4 and 7 qualifications (e.g., CISI)
  • Experience managing client portfolios within wealth management
  • Strong relationship-management and client service skills
  • Ability to collaborate across global teams and with cross-functional partners
  • Sound judgement in client decision-making and risk awareness
  • Commitment to governance, KYC, client reviews, and regulatory training
