Senior Practitioner – Help and Protection, Children in Care, and Fostering teams

Overview

In this Senior Practitioner role, you will oversee risk assessment and service delivery for children, families and young people within Coventry’s outstanding Children’s Services. You’ll supervise staff, advise partner agencies, and shape practice quality while complying with Social Work England standards. The role sits across Help & Protection, Children in Care, or Fostering, contributing to service development and ensuring robust care management. You’ll work flexibly to meet diverse family needs and support the team in a busy, client-centered environment. Key requirements

• Current registration with Social Work England
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• Proven ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
• Knowledge of assessment methods, care management and casework methods
• Experience of carrying out a range of statutory work in childcare/child protection
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with children and young people and families
