Staff Data Engineer

Overview

As Staff Data Engineer, you own Beamery’s data platform strategy and long-term architecture to enable trusted, scalable data for BI, AI, and product analytics. You’ll Partner with Engineering, Product and Design leadership to align with company strategy and drive multi-quarter roadmap delivery. You’ll tackle multi-tenant, high-scale challenges and shape data modelling for AI-driven workloads. This role offers influence across teams and a chance to modernize the data stack while balancing risk and delivery. You’ll work in a collaborative, impact‑driven culture that values trust and curiosity.

Responsibilities

• Define the multi-quarter architectural vision for the data platform and sequence delivery
• Architect analytics, semantic, and AI data layers for trustworthy products
• Set scalable standards and data contracts adopted by other teams
• Grow senior engineers through design reviews, pairing, and mentorship
• Own platform reliability, observability, SLAs, incident response, and RCAs

Key requirements

• Staff-level data engineer with experience building and running data platforms for internal and external consumers
• Strong background in data warehouses, data lakes, and real-time plus batch processing
• Experience with multi-tenant distributed systems and production fault analysis
• Ability to lead cross-team initiatives and communicate trade-offs to executives
• Experience with data transformations using dbt, and data storage design at scale
• Backend engineering experience (Python; Typescript/Node.js is a plus)
• Proficiency with pipelines, CDC, data quality, observability, and data contracts
• Infrastructure as code and containerization (Terraform, Kubernetes)
