Overview

In this role you drive profitability and growth for a construction loss sensitive book by underwriting and negotiating complex accounts while building strong broker and internal partnerships. You will identify new opportunities, craft sales plans, and mentor others as needed, contributing to Travelers’ risk-aware, client-focused approach. You operate in a collaborative, market-facing environment and travel to maintain key relationships. Responsibilities

  • Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business
  • Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to balance risk and profitability
  • Cultivate relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Maintain relationships with external partners by meeting agents and brokers to market and sell products
  • Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills
  • Develop and execute agency sales plans in collaboration with the Managing Director to shape region/group sales
  • Mentor less experienced Account Executives when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Six to eight years of relevant underwriting experience in construction loss sensitive
  • Deep knowledge of construction loss sensitive products, regulatory environment, and local insurance market
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making aligned with risk appetite
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with agents and brokers
  • CPCU designation
  • Four years of experience across underwriting, claims, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance
