In this role you drive profitability and growth for a construction loss sensitive book by underwriting, marketing, and building strong broker partnerships. You will collaborate with internal teams to align risk appetite with sales plans and cross-sell Travelers products. The position offers exposure to risk assessment, client-facing negotiations, and agency management at scale. Responsibilities
- Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business
- Underwrite and negotiate accounts to balance risk and profitability
- Build and maintain relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and cross-selling opportunities
- Cultivate external relationships with agents and brokers; meet in person to market and write/retain accounts within risk appetite
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills
- Develop and execute agency and region/group sales plans
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Three to five years of relevant underwriting experience with construction loss sensitive experience
- Knowledge of construction loss sensitive products, regulatory environment, and local insurance market
- Strong critical thinking for proactive problem solving and timely decisions aligned with risk appetite
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with agents and brokers
