Lead Software Engineer – Public Cloud

Overview

As Lead Software Engineer, you will shape the private cloud offering within Atlas On Premise and Next Generation Infrastructure. You’ll build across multi-hypervisor environments to deliver a consistent user experience in on-premises and public clouds. You will design, develop, and optimize scalable cloud infrastructure and drive quality through AI-assisted tooling and continuous improvement. You’ll work with cross-functional teams globally to innovate and secure reliable services, contributing to a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovation-led culture.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end software solutions for private cloud infrastructure
• Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain robust algorithms
• Produce architecture/design artifacts for complex applications across the SDLC
• Champion enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices and standardized validation
• Leverage SDLC tools and AI-enabled automation to enhance value and efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across UK, Ireland, and the US to ensure scalable, resilient services
• Contribute to software engineering communities and explore new technologies
• Foster a team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect

Key requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-approved AI-assisted development tools and evaluation of AI outputs
• Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency and security expectations
• Proficiency in Java, GoLang, or equivalent modern languages
• Experience coding, debugging, and maintaining code in large, complex environments
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes in cloud, AI, ML, etc.
• Experience with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering principles
