Aerospace Supplier Recovery Lead

Overview

In this role you lead supplier recovery across aerospace manufacturers to restore delivery performance and manufacturing flow. You work with supplier executives and cross-functional teams to drive rapid operational improvements and sustainable solutions. The role involves on-site assessments, developing recovery plans, and guiding execution with executive governance. A key focus is reducing delivery risks and ensuring contractual on-time delivery while navigating a global supplier base.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end supplier recovery engagements for delivery, capacity, quality, or operational issues
• Perform on-site assessments to identify bottlenecks, shortages, scheduling, and capacity constraints
• Develop comprehensive recovery plans with actions, ownership, milestones, and measurable objectives
• Drive plan execution through daily management and executive governance
• Partner with supplier leadership to improve production planning, scheduling, inventory, workforce utilization, and manufacturing flow
• Lead structured root cause analyses (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA)
• Monitor performance using OTD, Past Due Orders, Capacity Utilisation, Yield, Cycle Time, and OEE
• Coordinate with Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Management to align priorities
• Support readiness for production ramp-ups, engineering changes, and new product introductions
• Facilitate daily performance reviews and weekly executive business reviews
• Identify long-term continuous improvement opportunities using Lean and Six Sigma
• Document progress, risks, and executive summaries for senior leadership

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, or related discipline
• 7+ years in aerospace manufacturing, supplier development, operations, supply chain or production leadership
• Proven experience leading supplier recovery or manufacturing improvement initiatives
• Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly, composites, or special processes)
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle
• Ability to influence executive-level supplier stakeholders without direct authority
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
