Technical Lead Ruby TypeScript – Developer Experience

Overview

As Technical Lead you shape the technical strategy and architecture for Developer Ecosystems, guiding API/SDK design for scalability. You’ll lead cross-team initiatives to expand client libraries and oversee the full lifecycle from design to release. You mentor engineers, review contributions, and foster open-source collaboration while interfacing with the developer community. This role blends hands-on coding with leadership, within a product‑driven, B2B SaaS environment focused on real-time messaging scale.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical strategy and architecture for Developer Ecosystems (iOS, Web, Infra/Automation)
• Set API/SDK design guidelines for consistency, usability, and scalability
• Lead cross-team initiatives to expand and improve client libraries
• Oversee the full development lifecycle from design to release and ongoing product evolution
• Mentor engineers, review contributions, and raise the technical bar
• Guide external contributors and open-source collaboration; communicate with the developer community to feed product direction

Key requirements

• Senior software engineer with experience building developer tooling and APIs
• Hands-on experience with Ruby, TypeScript and React
• Experience in a product-focused B2B SaaS environment
• Proven ability to make technical decisions that drive projects
• Comfort with AI tools such as Claude and Cursor
• Customer- and product-focused mindset; collaborative and pragmatic; mentoring experience
• Strong CS fundamentals (OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns)
