Civil Project Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead civil engineering from concept to completion within the Affinity Water AMP 8 framework, collaborating with project managers and site teams. You’ll deliver both non-infra and infra works in the water sector, manage design, risk assessments, procurement, and QA, while focusing on safety and compliance. You will engage with clients and stakeholders, shape solutions through design reviews, and drive on-time delivery and value. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role in a leading contractor environment with a strong safety culture and growth intent.

Responsibilities

• Lead Civil engineering from concept through to completion using in-house resources and site teams
• Deliver Non-Infra and Infra projects within the water sector
• Oversee design management and liaise with clients and internal teams
• Conduct early site investigations and coordinate with stakeholders
• Prepare and review health & safety documentation (RAMS, project plans)
• Procure materials and manage supplier/subcontractor relationships
• Participate in design reviews and hazard studies to develop optimal solutions
• Monitor budgets and assist with cost reviews and variation claims
• Ensure quality and compliance through inspection and test plans
• Drive innovation while maintaining adherence to standards
• Prepare and manage project programmes and documentation (as-built drawings, O&M manuals)
• Champion health & safety and maintain high performance standards
• Undertake QA activities of subcontractor setting out when required
• Engage and deliver civil works and packages on site

• Experience in the water industry or Non-Infra projects (desirable)
• Knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts
• Knowledge of setting out
• Full UK driving licence
