Overview

In this role you support the MLRO to strengthen the bank’s Fraud and Financial Crime risk management, ensuring compliance with laws and codes of conduct. You will help design and monitor risk controls, provide MI to senior stakeholders and regulators, and lead risk assessments and investigations. The position offers hybrid working in London and the chance to influence policy, training, and escalation processes across the bank. You will be a trusted contact for regulators and internal partners, shaping the bank’s approach to AML/FC risk.

Responsibilities

  • Support the MLRO by designing and maintaining F&FC risk management arrangements
  • Lead development and review of policies covering AML, sanctions, tax evasion, market abuse, bribery and fraud
  • Provide regular reporting on F&FC risk to the MLRO, CRO and Board
  • Coordinate group-wide F&FC risk assessments and control effectiveness reviews
  • Investigate potential fraud and financial crime cases as needed
  • Review escalations (Sanctions/PEPs/Adverse media) and advise on approvals
  • Oversee SAR investigations and submissions to the reporting authority
  • Conduct investigations of suspected fraud, including potential referrals to law enforcement
  • Challenge business units on Risk & Control Self Assessments for F&FC risks
  • Design and deliver F&FC training content and monitor staff training adherence
  • Support governance forums for F&FC risk oversight
  • Act as a trusted liaison with regulators and external stakeholders
  • Quality assure F&FC activity and perform policy/controls reviews to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Monitor regulatory developments related to F&FC
  • Collaborate with Risk & Compliance teams to provide data and analytical risk insights

Key requirements

  • Senior management experience in financial crime within financial services
  • Experience as Money Laundering Reporting Officer/SMF17 for an FCA-regulated firm
  • Degree level education or equivalent (desirable)
  • Fraud/Financial Crime qualification (e.g., ICA Diploma or CAMS)
  • Experience in risk management, compliance, or fraud/financial crime prevention in financial services
