Overview
In this Senior Java Developer role, you contribute to risk technology used by traders and the Structured Rates desk-facing squad. You’ll design and build functionality for risk management systems, partnering with product leads to drive continuous improvement. You’ll ensure quality through testing and CI/CD, support production releases, and collaborate with global teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions. Responsibilities
- Partner with product leads to identify opportunities to enhance platforms and solutions
- Design and build functionality for risk management systems across the full SDLC
- Gather and evaluate business and technical requirements to drive improvements
- Ensure high-quality delivery with unit testing, regression testing, and CI/CD practices
- Support production releases and post-deployment support in a fast-paced environment
- Work with cutting-edge technologies and risk management systems
- Develop distributed systems leveraging caches and grid-computing technologies
- Collaborate with global Interest Rates Derivative technology, middleware and infrastructure teams
Key requirements
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, design patterns, and scalable development
- Proficiency in Java (APIs, collections, multithreading)
- Experience building scalable distributed systems with distributed caches/grid computing
- Familiarity with unit testing, mocking frameworks, and CI pipelines
- Exposure to Scala is advantageous
- Knowledge of frameworks/platforms such as Symphony, Akka, Coherence, Infinispan, Cassandra, or Hazelcast
- Knowledge of risk systems development including valuation and risk calculations is highly valued
- Experience with model libraries or pricing engines is a plus
