Software Engineering Manager

Overview

As a Software Engineering Manager, you lead and grow high-performing software teams within Avigilon Alta Video, driving engineering excellence and timely product delivery. You’ll coach engineers, promote best practices, and align technical work with product goals to deliver AI-enabled video security solutions. You’ll collaborate across the organization to balance short- and long-term objectives, shaping a culture of continuous improvement. This role offers a chance to influence how safe communities are protected through scalable cloud-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead high-performing software development teams across levels
• Coach and develop engineers, fostering career growth
• Promote engineering best practices and a culture of continuous improvement
• Drive alignment between product goals and engineering plans
• Collaborate with wider organization to achieve strategic objectives
• Champion CI/CD, release trains, and timely feature delivery
• Oversee cloud/DevOps practices on large-scale customer-facing product
• Inspire teams to exceed expectations and maintain strong communication

Key requirements

• 3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams
• Experience leveraging AI tools to optimize engineering processes
• Track record of on-time delivery by teams
• Strong leadership and motivational skills
• Continuous learning mindset
• Exposure to Scrum or other Agile frameworks
• Knowledge of modern SDLC
• Cloud and/or DevOps experience on large-scale product
• Proficiency in any programming language (C++, Go, TypeScript, …)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
