Overview
In this role you help prepare UK statutory financial statements for a key regulated entity, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery under audits and regulatory deadlines. You will work with cross-border teams to maintain robust controls and support UK GAAP/IFRS accounting analyses. You’ll drive process improvements and collaborate across Finance to meet disclosure and audit requirements. Responsibilities
- Prepare statutory financial statements for a UK regulated entity
- Produce disclosures within UK statutory statements under local GAAP, partnering with Lines of Business and external audit
- Prepare working papers and support audit files with high accuracy, liaising with external auditors
- Maintain and reconcile the local ledger platform and operating model
- Support technical UK GAAP/IFRS accounting analysis, including memos and new product assessments
- Identify and drive process and control enhancements across local accounts
- Build and maintain relationships across Finance to coordinate audit requests and information
- Support cross-entity disclosures and audit tasks for the wider LEC team as needed
Key requirements
- Qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent) with post-qualified experience
- Solid understanding of investment and retail bank financial accounting and products
- Ability to work under time pressure while maintaining accuracy and quality
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with track record of building strong working relationships
- Strong analytical ability to discuss results with senior management and stakeholders
- Desire to learn and understand challenging accounting concepts and new products
