Overview

In this role you will design secure firmware and FPGA-based solutions to strengthen defence capabilities. You will collaborate with engineering teams and customers to address security risks while delivering value within programme constraints. You will help ensure designs meet security standards and accreditation requirements, contributing to resilience across critical systems. Responsibilities

  • Design secure firmware cores and support their integration into engineering teams
  • Review design documents, system specs, and risk profiles to identify vulnerabilities and propose secure mitigations
  • Work with solution architects to ensure designs meet Design Integrity and security standards and accreditation
  • Participate in customer forums to discuss security topics

Key requirements

  • Technical knowledge of secure firmware/embedded software and electronics integration
  • Knowledge of digital electronics
  • Experience with AMD, Microsemi and/or Intel FPGAs
  • Experience with firmware simulation and verification tools
  • Scripting knowledge (TCL and/or Python)
  • Understanding of isolated design flow, encryption, and secure boot
  • Awareness of engineering product development lifecycle
