Project Planner – Piling

Overview

As Project Planner, you will shape and monitor the programme for a prestigious Midlands civil engineering project. You’ll produce tender and contract programmes, phasing drawings, and progress reports, aligning planning with site constraints and procurement. You’ll collaborate with internal and external teams to optimise delivery, manage changes, and maintain accurate as-built records. This role offers impact on project outcomes through robust scheduling and value engineering in a challenging, multi-discipline environment.

Responsibilities

• Produce tender and contract programme
• Create planning files, notes and worksheets
• Develop quality phasing drawings, time slices and mass-haul diagrams
• Identify temporary works and traffic management needs
• Propose VE (value engineering) options
• Generate programmes with constraints, off-site procurement, resources, float and time risk analysis
• Liaise with internal and external colleagues
• Produce change programmes and revised contracts
• Manage as-built records and measure productivity
• Prepare planning reports and assess planning standards
• Identify opportunities and threats

Key requirements

• Must have planning experience with a UK Main Contractor or Subcontractor on a Civil Engineering project
• Strong civils background with relevant exposure (piling/ground engineering)
• Knowledge of NEC, ECC/ICE forms of contract, SHW, SHW method of measurements and CESMM
• Proficiency in Asta Planning Software or Primavera P6
• HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
