Senior Project Planner

Overview

In this role you will lead the end-to-end planning and scheduling for LMUK SS contracts, bridging strategy with daily operations. You’ll own the project lifecycle from proposal to execution, contributing to the delivery of complex UK defence engineering programs. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders and ensure schedule integrity, risk mitigation, and performance reporting. This is a hybrid, strategically impactful role in a collaborative, high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and schedule management for programme capture and execution
• Refine and manage the Integrated Master Plan for the contract renewal effort
• Lead proposal planning and artefact development for solicitation responses
• Interface with program management, senior management and customer as the planning integrator
• Validate cost and schedule integration for performance management
• Identify commercial risks, develop mitigations, adjust timelines as needed
• Gather progress data and produce reports on actuals vs baselines
• Ensure deliverables comply with LM’s command media
• Resolve schedule conflicts and implement workarounds
• Support business rhythms and management reviews of Schedule Information

Key requirements

• Significant experience as Senior Project Planner or similar
• Experience with Microsoft Project or similar planning software
• Experience managing resource-loaded schedules
• Awareness of Earned Value Management and Critical Path Management
• Confident in maintaining best planning practices under pressure
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to quickly adapt to new tools, systems, and processes
