Senior Director, Commercial Legal – Public Sector EMEA & Asia Pacific

Overview

As Senior Director, Commercial Legal, you will guide Salesforce’s Public Sector sales across EMEA and APAC, structuring and negotiating complex agreements while aligning with internal policies. You’ll lead a cross-border legal team, partner with compliance, finance, and operations, and advise executives on high-stakes deals. Your work helps accelerate public sector transactions in a customer-centric, transparent manner. This role combines legal leadership with AI-enabled process improvements to scale governance and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Advise senior leadership on strategic legal matters
• Structure, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements for Public Sector sales in EMEA and APAC
• Lead negotiations of Main Services Agreements, Order Forms, Professional Services agreements, and related docs
• Manage and mentor a multi-jurisdictional team of public sector lawyers
• Collaborate with global legal, procurement, finance, and operations teams
• Navigate public sector procurement requirements and compliance with government frameworks
• Assess and mitigate complex legal risks; escalate as needed
• Drive legal process improvements, leveraging AI to speed deal closure

Key requirements

• Qualified lawyer licensed in a European or Asian jurisdiction
• 10+ years PQE, in-house tech company or tech-focused private practice with government entities
• Deep public sector and government contracting expertise across global frameworks
• Proven leadership of teams across multiple jurisdictions
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and risk management skills
• Collaborative and transparent stakeholder engagement
• Strong business judgment and problem-solving abilities
• Project management for multiple complex transactions in fast-paced environments
• Experience with AI to support transactions and team operations
