Overview

In this role you will deliver outstanding technical support for Canonical’s Linux stack, while engaging with customers and supporting office events. You will own issue resolution, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and continuously learn new products. The position combines hands-on Linux expertise with strong communication and service orientation in a global, mostly remote environment. This is a chance to contribute to Ubuntu’s enterprise impact and grow in a pioneering open source company.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and escalate customer issues based on research
  • Resolve complex problems across Canonical’s product portfolio
  • Engage with customers via phone, ticketing system, and remote sessions
  • Own issues and meet SLA commitments with high customer satisfaction
  • Familiarize with and support the technical infrastructure behind the office, events, and demos
  • Provide technical and infrastructure support during office events and for onboarding new employees

Key requirements

  • English proficiency (written and spoken) with strong presentation skills
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or equivalent alternative path
  • Proven track record of exceeding expectations
  • Linux troubleshooting experience (logs, stack traces, tuning configs)
  • Linux integration with other environments (authentication/directory services, NFS, etc.)
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience in Networking, Virtualization/Cloud, Containers, Storage
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, and handle customer-facing pressure
  • Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for up to two weeks
