Quantity Surveyor Required in Surrey

Overview

As a site-based Quantity Surveyor, you will support fast-paced leisure and hospitality projects, with travel to sites nationwide and some work from home or the office when possible. You will manage budgets, contracts and commercial aspects across multiple refurbishments and fit-out schemes, ensuring timely delivery and strong client relationships. This role offers exposure to varied local projects with occasional heavy travel and overnight stays, contributing to rapid scheme delivery and project value. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to optimise costs and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide budget figures for multiple projects
• Monitor project delivery, deadlines and quality across sites
• Assess risks and manage variances, variations and final accounts
• Keep clients updated and build strong relationships throughout each project
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
• Travel nationally and accommodate occasional overnight trips
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Understand site processes and constructability to support cost control

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction
• Experience with refurbishment or fit-out projects
• Strong understanding of contracts, variations, valuations and final accounts
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials and associated costs
• Proactive and commercially minded approach
