Full-Stack Software Engineer, Model Development Platform

Overview

As a Full-Stack Software Engineer in Wayve’s Model Development Platform, you design, build, and operate apps and services that support autonomous-driving model development. You work across the full stack to create intuitive web interfaces and scalable backend systems for data, training, scheduling, evaluation, and on-road testing. You lead significant technical areas from design to production, mentor others, and contribute to architectural direction. This role offers hands-on impact with cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, safety-focused domain.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end platform capabilities for model development workflows (scheduling, evaluation, on-road testing)
• Build scalable, secure, reliable, and observable web applications, APIs, and backend services
• Shape system design and technical direction; lead significant features and multi-quarter initiatives
• Lead through hands-on contribution while mentoring junior/mid-level engineers
• Collaborate with Product Management, Research, Operations, Design, and other engineering teams to align on user needs and deliver cohesive platform capabilities

Key requirements

• Full-stack engineering experience across frontend and backend
• Proficiency with React, TypeScript, Python, Flask, or FastAPI
• Strong understanding of system design, API design, data modeling, and distributed systems
• Track record of end-to-end ownership from concept to production
• Technical leadership and mentorship experience
• Collaborative problem-solving and cross-functional communication
