Overview

In this Front End Developer role, you will shape user interfaces for defence-focused digital initiatives. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to translate design into responsive web applications and ensure performance across devices. The position involves collaborating across design, UX, and back-end teams to deliver high-quality interfaces and contribute to improvement of development processes. A key aspect is navigating security-cleared environments and staying current with front-end trends to deliver impactful solutions. You’ll join Deloitte’s Technology & Transformation team, contributing to mission-critical digital journeys for defence clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop responsive, high-quality web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Translate design mockups into interactive user interfaces with designers
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability across devices and browsers
• Test and debug front-end issues to ensure seamless UX
• Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate front-end with server-side functionality
• Stay updated on front-end trends and best practices
• Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and contribute to technical discussions
• Identify and implement front-end process improvements to boost efficiency

Key requirements

• Proven Front-End Developer experience with a strong portfolio
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Solid understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Experience with Git and front-end build tools like Webpack or Gulp
• Familiarity with UI/UX principles and collaboration with designers
• Strong problem-solving, debugging skills, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay current with front-end developments
