Senior Security Engineer

Overview

In this role, you lead and refine security across the IT estate, acting as a technical authority within a small IT Security team. You implement robust controls, run risk assessments and vulnerability management, and respond to threats to protect sensitive data. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with IT to enforce standards, and drive security initiatives across projects. This position offers impact through safeguarding systems, improving defenses, and shaping security practices within a financial services context.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Secure Web Gateway
• Manage the Email Security Gateway
• Conduct vulnerability scans, identify risks and remediation
• Oversee perimeter and VPN firewalls
• Manage MFA and SSO implementations
• Administer MDM/MAM and Conditional Access
• Manage security certificates and keys
• Deliver Cyber Security Awareness Training
• Remediate vulnerabilities identified in penetration testing

Key requirements

• 5+ years of security team leadership and project management experience
• Hands-on experience with security tooling and infrastructure (see tools)
• Strong familiarity with cyber security controls and best practices
• Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to ensure security compliance
