Network Engineer

Overview

As a hands-on Network Engineer, you will own and optimise a broad, multi-site enterprise network underpinning business-critical media and services. You’ll operate across Cisco routing/switching, security, and IP infrastructure while driving improvements, projects and design work. This role sits in a UK infrastructure team, collaborating across functions to ensure network reliability and performance. You will contribute to advanced networking, security and IP-based media technologies in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Support, operate and improve a multi-site enterprise network
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routing, switching and wireless infrastructure
• Manage network security and Palo Alto firewalls
• Troubleshoot complex network and connectivity issues
• Work across operational support, network upgrades, projects and design
• Support resilient IP infrastructure carrying business-critical services

Key requirements

• 5+ years’ hands-on enterprise/campus networking experience
• Strong Cisco routing and switching skills (Catalyst and Nexus preferred)
• Knowledge of BGP, OSPF and/or EIGRP
• Enterprise firewall experience (Palo Alto preferred)
• Strong Layer 2/3 networking and troubleshooting knowledge
• CCNP-level knowledge or working towards certification
• Experience with multicast, video-over-IP or media/broadcast networks advantageous
• Experience with IP multicast, video-over-IP, datacentre networking, private circuits or media/broadcast infrastructure advantageous but not essential
