Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will deliver critical electrical maintenance for a healthcare facility, handling reactive diagnostics and repairs. You will act as the night-time first contact for BMS alerts, coordinating tasks and ensuring proper handover to the Helpdesk. You’ll develop competencies for safe operation of low-voltage systems and related infrastructure, including acting as Authorized Person after training. The position supports a mission-driven facilities team focused on reliability, safety, and patient care in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Respond to reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and repair complex electrical systems
• Respond to BMS alerts and phone calls at night, assess issues, allocate tasks, and document actions
• Maintain records and handover to Helpdesk at shift start to ensure continuity
• Obtain Competent Person status for systems such as low voltage electrical, access control, alarms, and medical gas installations
• Act as Authorized Person after training and familiarisation
• Work on emergency lighting, nurse calls, general electrics, and fire alarms

• City and Guilds levels 2 and 3
• AM218th Edition
• Previous maintenance environment experience
• Healthcare maintenance environment desirable
• DBS Standard check with ability to pass
