Overview

As Senior Legal Counsel, you guide regulatory strategy and investigations for digital safety across Europe, aligning product innovation with legal compliance. You will lead enforcement and investigations with European and national regulators, shaping responses to evolving Digital Services Act and Online Safety Act requirements. You’ll partner with cross‑functional teams to navigate multi‑jurisdictional issues and implement governance programs for online safety and content regulation. This role offers the chance to influence regulation at scale within a hyper‑growth, international tech environment and to advise senior executives on complex policy matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory enforcement and investigations strategy with European and national regulators
• Support enforcement processes under the Digital Services Act and Online Safety Act, and other EU/UK digital regulations
• Advise internal stakeholders on a broad range of online safety and content enforcement regulatory matters
• Contribute to governance and enforcement policy programs for online safety and content regulation
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to manage multiple high‑profile, multi‑jurisdictional regulatory matters

Key requirements

• Significant post‑qualification experience in regulatory legal compliance within private practice or in‑house function
• Background in consumer‑facing tech or digital media, or strong understanding of these industries
• Experience advising on laws related to user‑generated content, including the Digital Services Act and Online Safety Act
• Ability to manage many fast‑paced, multi‑jurisdictional regulatory investigations in ambiguous environments
• Experience advising on practical implementation of new laws and/or regulatory disputes
• Team collaboration and coordination with stakeholders and business units
• Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience advising senior executives
