International Operations Cross Border Specialist

Overview

In this role you will manage international road freight movements across Europe, ensuring compliant, efficient transport solutions and excellent customer service. You will collaborate with customers, carriers, customs teams and internal colleagues to plan, quote, document, and monitor shipments from origin to destination. The role focuses on cross-border operations, documentation accuracy, and proactive issue resolution to support seamless supply chains. It offers exposure to complex regional transport challenges within a global logistics network.

Responsibilities

• Manage international road freight shipments (import, export, cross-trade, domestic)
• Coordinate transport planning and communicate with operations, carriers, network partners
• Create and manage transport documentation (manifests, GMRs, ferry bookings) and shipment records
• Provide spot and lane quotations to identify cost-effective transport solutions
• Support onboarding of new customers including SOP creation and implementation
• Monitor shipments across origin and destination, manage exceptions and update stakeholders
• Assist customs-related activities ensuring compliant import/export documentation
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, hauliers, sales and internal teams

Key requirements

• Experience in road freight, transport planning, or logistics operations
• Understanding of international road transport and cross-border movements
• Knowledge of customs processes and import/export documentation
• Experience preparing quotations and coordinating transport solutions
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
