Senior Software Engineer, Java

Overview

In this Senior Software Engineer role you will contribute hands-on to the Information Systems team, building production tools used across game development. You will help design scalable backend systems and APIs that support fast-paced development at Rockstar. You’ll collaborate with cross-studio tech teams to advance tools and platforms, learning new technologies as needed. Responsibilities

• Design and implement solutions for fast-paced game development
• Contribute to the team’s software design guidelines
• Collaborate with Rockstar technology teams across studios
• Develop understanding of used systems and learn new technologies to advance applications

Key requirements

• 5+ years of professional Java backend development
• Strong command of Java (low-level to high-level)
• Deep expertise in Spring Boot ecosystem and JPA/Hibernate
• Experience designing and scaling RESTful APIs
• Solid MySQL (or major RDBMS) with query-tuning
• Hands-on Apache Kafka and CDC pipelines
• Proficient in Java performance profiling and debugging
• Linux proficiency with strong communication and production-support skills
