Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will contribute to the Low Carbon team by delivering Electrical design across substation, distribution and energy projects. You will lead cost-effective solutions, manage multiple project stages, and collaborate with vendors to refine design packages. You’ll assess asset condition and risks, while helping develop proposals and bids for EC&I and multidisciplinary work. Responsibilities

• Lead and develop cost-effective engineering solutions for complex problems
• Deliver projects across stages: feasibility, concept, FEED, value engineering, detailed design
• Produce electrical deliverables: SLDs, cable calculations, diagrams, plant layouts, routing, containment, switchgear configurations, BOMs
• Collaborate with equipment vendors on design packages
• Assess condition, risk, opportunity and intervention needs of electrical assets
• Develop proposals and bids for EC&I and multi-disciplinary initiatives

Key requirements

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with substantial experience in design, operation, maintenance and testing
• Chartered Engineer or progressing toward IEng/CEng and membership of a recognized Engineering Institute
• Ability to take a lead role in developing electrical deliverables and asset assessment
• Knowledge of design, construction and operation of power and energy projects
• Experience with design processes and generating calculations; commissioning, operation, maintenance and testing of medium/high voltage equipment and systems
