In this role, you support manufacturing operations by maintaining and improving bespoke automated equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and quickly addressing breakdowns to protect process yields. You will collaborate with Projects and cross-functional teams in a regulated manufacturing environment. The position focuses on hands-on engineering in Witney’s fast-growing biosensor and diagnostics operation, enabling continuous improvement and reliable production. Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on bespoke automated equipment
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and fault-finding to minimise downtime
- Monitor equipment performance to sustain yields and efficiency
- Contribute technical input to maintain and improve processes
- Assist Projects Team with equipment changes and implementations
- Maintain high-quality records and operate within strict quality systems
Key requirements
- Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Set-up of precision assemblies and use of machine tools
- Fault finding and problem solving skills
- Completion of recognised Engineering apprenticeship or higher education qualification (ONC/HNC/HND/degree) in a related subject
- Good communication across peers and departments
- Strong record-keeping in line with quality systems
