Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice and representation in childcare proceedings
• Act as a supervisor, overseeing and mentoring junior team members
• Manage a caseload of childcare matters including care, adoption, and guardianship
• Conduct advocacy in court hearings and represent clients at meetings and conferences
• Build relationships with clients and external stakeholders with professionalism and empathy

Key requirements

• Qualified Solicitor with significant childcare law experience
• Membership of the Childcare Panel accredited by the Law Society
• Strong advocacy skills with court experience
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior solicitors and legal assistants
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; empathetic and professional handling of sensitive situations
