Senior Estimator (Main Contractor) | Permanent | North West London

Overview

In this Senior Estimator role, you will lead tendering and cost planning for varied contracts within a reputable main contractor in North West London. You will manage the full tender process from inception to settlement, prepare cost plans, and price Preliminaries for diverse project types. You will collaborate with design consultants, supply chain partners, and internal teams to assess risks, opportunities, and value engineering opportunities. This role offers exposure to large-scale refurbishment and new build projects across healthcare, education, industrial, and commercial sectors.

Responsibilities

• Administer the full tender process from inception to settlement with Directors
• Produce accurate Cost Plans and knowledge of building costs/m2; ft2
• Coordinate procurement processes including 2-stage tenders
• Provide own BQ for specification and drawing projects
• Prepare tender notes and clarifications; highlight risk & opportunities
• Price tender Preliminaries; assess supply chain capacity
• Coordinate with Design Consultants on Design & Build tenders
• Formulate Contractors Proposals
• Explain CDPs relevance within schemes
• Review M&E services installation and green building techniques
• Participate in value engineering and post-tender interviews
• Liaise with Specialist Sub-Contractors and investigate construction forms
• Understand Modular, Pre Fabricated Systems
• Basic understanding of NRM & BIM

Key requirements

• Track record with a reputable Main Contractor on projects up to 15m
• Experience with JCT, NEC and Design & Build contracts
• Experience in cost planning, tender administration, and procurement
• Ability to resource tenders through supply chain capacity
• Knowledge of system estimating software
• Ability to communicate tender risk and opportunities clearly
• Experience with M&E services installation and green building techniques
• Ability to conduct value engineering and liaise with sub-contractors
