Project Controls Manager

Overview

As Project Controls Manager, you will oversee project controls across a portfolio of complex capital projects to ensure robust baselines, governance, and delivery. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain integrated baselines and drive cost, schedule, and risk management. You lead change control and period-end processes, while guiding a high-performing controls team and promoting continuous improvement. This role supports a safety-focused culture and high-value project outcomes in a challenging environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and maintenance of Project Controls processes across assigned projects
• Develop and maintain integrated project and programme baselines
• Lead period-end processes, including progress assessment, expenditure tracking and reporting
• Manage change control activities across projects
• Lead and support a team delivering high-quality project controls outputs
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and reporting
• Work with stakeholders at all levels across complex, high-value and high-risk projects
• Promote a positive safety culture and support continuous improvement

Key requirements

• Extensive experience in Project Controls within major capital projects or programmes
• Strong knowledge of project controls, planning, governance, change control, cost and risk management
• Experience using project scheduling and reporting tools, such as Primavera P3e, MS Project and Excel
• Experience creating, adapting and monitoring project controls and integrated baselines
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Experience leading or managing Project Controls teams
• Recognised Project Management qualification, such as APM Professional
• Knowledge of SAP and PPM systems is desirable
