Chartered Civil Engineer

Overview

Senior Civil Engineer in a Civil and Structural team, delivering civil engineering consultancy services from feasibility through to construction. You will lead day-to-day project delivery within a supportive team, ensuring quality, budget, and timelines. The role emphasizes drainage, highway design, and SuDS, with a hands-on, mentor-oriented approach. You will work on residential development projects and contribute to planning procedures and design code compliance. This is a technically focused, impactful role at an award-winning firm in Wigan.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day project delivery and collaboration with engineers and technicians
• Ensure quality, budget, and timeline objectives are met
• Produce drainage and highway drawings, design calculations, technical reports and site appraisals
• Apply knowledge of UK planning procedures and relevant design codes
• Utilize AutoCAD, Microdrainage/Flow, Causeway Live/PDS/Civil 3D and AutoTrack
• Support and mentor team members
• Engage with residential developers on projects

Key requirements

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in civil engineering consultancy
• BEng/Meng/MSc/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering
• Ability to produce drainage and highway drawings, calculations, reports, and site appraisals
• Knowledge of Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, Manual for Streets, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Local Authority Design Guidance
• Experience with residential developers
• Strong written and verbal English skills
• Self-motivated with initiative
• Full UK driving licence advantageous
• Proficiency in listed software tools
